DSCF2002

The kids are warting us to death about opening gifts! We decided to let them open their stockings to appease the mob.

DSCF2005

Keighly got a stuffed bear, some rainbow toe socks (like her friend Lydia)....

DSCF2006

Some YuGiOh cards (whatever those are), candy...

DSCF2013

..a little cash, dragon silly bands, and a Coke in an ornament bottle.

DSCF2007

Emily also got some rainbow toe socks, a stuffed bear, candy...

DSCF2014

... some mini stuffed animals, a little cash...

DSCF2015

... some Littlest Pet Shop cards,

DSCF2012

and a Coke in an ornament bottle.

DSCF2004

Ian got a lightsaber/glowstick/flashlight thingy, a stuffed bear, candy...

DSCF2008

.. some YuGiOh cards (whatever they are), a little cash...

DSCF2010

... some mini Halo Lego men, and a Coke in an ornament bottle.

DSCF2016

Keighly and Ian waste no time in starting a game of YuGiOh (whatever that is). I'm not sure if they really know how to play, but the game is heated with lots of trading of cards.

We Have A Winner!

A website I frequent recently had a contest. The prize was a Win7 Ultimate signed by Steve Ballmer! You could enter three times: once on Facespace, once on Twitter, and once by responding to the post. Since I don't have a Facespace or Twitter account, I just responded to the post (even saying in my message that it would be my only entry).. Well, lo and behold, I awoke this morning to an email saying I won! Now I can upgrade the kids/Incredi-Mom's PC to a full Win7 Ultimate! Yay!

UPDATE: The prize just arrived on Christmas Eve! Woot!

Emily Entertains Herself

DSCF1860

Emily is as content doing a puzzle by herself as she is pestering her siblings. She has become quite good at completing puzzles!

DSCF1861

When I was much younger (probably Ian's age), I got a game for Christmas called "Run Yourself Ragged". It was an obstacle course game where you manage a small ball bearing across and through various pitfalls and mazes. Since this was long before video games, I became very good at completing the course since I had nothing but time to play. I think my fastest time was 17 seconds!

DSCF1862

The kids haven't quite gotten the hang of it yet. As Emily demonstrates, the ball frequently falls off (usually on the floor) and you are supposed to start all over. However, my kids decided it best to either not use the timer at all, or just put the ball back where it left off (or skip that level). Curse those pesky "rules"!

UPDATE: It look slike Run Yourself Ragged is still around, re-packaged as "Screwball Scramble"!

*cue announcer voice* A New Car!

Our friend Heather Spicer was in a car wreck last Monday that totaled her car. She was banged up, but nothing serious (luckily!). Within a week, she found a new car she liked! A 2011 Honda CR-V.

Jude and Candy

These are our two smaller dogs, Jude and Candy.

DSCF8778

Jude is a beagle/terrier mix. We 'adopted' him when one of our renters moved and couldn't take him. He loves for you to play with him and his rope bone! He has a growly-talk to let you know when he wants attention. He can also bey and howl like a beagle. We affectionately call him 'Judy-Booty'. In fact, we have elongated it to "Judy's Booty is on Duty"!

DSCF1904

Jude also likes to think he is a lap dog. When he was younger, he certainly fit your lap fine. But now he has grown into quite a plump sausage, yet he still manages to plop on top of you and put his muzzle right in your face and give you a sloppy lick.

DSCF8781

Candy is a full blooded minature schnauzer. She was a gift from Nana when their dog Sissy had a litter of puppies. Keighly picked her out. Candy's full name is Candy Cane. She has a sister named Pepper Mint! Although she is the smallest of our dogs, she should have been named 'Killer'. Several times she has come into the house with a dead critter in her mouth, proudly bringing it to Incredi-Mom's feet and wanting praise.

DSCF1802

Here is a great example of why we call Candy "Killer". I don't see how she could even fit this huge mole in her small mouth, but she managed to find, kill, and retrieve the mole into the house right at the feet of the sofa. First thing in the morning, as the kids were getting ready for school. Yay! Incredi-Mom was not happy.

Christmas is coming!

We have been very busy with church and school, so Christmas has really snuck up on us this year.. We finally got around to putting up the tree..

DSCF1782

Incredi-Mom made the wise decision long ago to go with a pre-lit "faux" tree. It goes up quick and easy, almost like an umbrella! Much better than the real tree we got several years ago.

DSCF1793

This year, Emily gets to put the angel on the tree (with a little help)..

DSCF1794

Once the tree and angel are up, the kids waste no time putting on the decorations. Many of the ornaments are hand-made by them, and they diligently look for their own to hang.

DSCF1795

Keighly gets the high spots, Ian the middle, and Emily goes low.

DSCF1797

Viola! The tree looks great! That is Emily's leg at the bottom with some kind of sleeve/tube on her foot. Not sure, but that is the randomness of the Incredibealls.

Hopefully we'll get the rest of our Christmas stuff down to really get the spirit going!

Ouch

Our good friend Ms Heather Spicer was in a car wreck.

WP_000013

We got a call from a first responder, and met her at the ER at Forrest General.

WP_000012

Her hand got banged up pretty bad. A person in a truck pulled right out in front of her when she was traveling north on Hwy 49. She was laying on the horn with her hand when the air bag deployed, and this was the result.

WP_000014

After some medication and getting the neck brace off, Ms Heather was feeling much better!

WP_000018

This is her car the next day. The insurance totalled it.

Christmas at Uncle Phil's Diner: No Room at the Diner

Our first performance for "Christmas at Uncle Phil's Diner: No Room at the Diner"! For the most part, everything went very well. We had a few mic problems, but just kept going. The crowd laughed at the right parts, which is a good sign! I have a feeling they got tired of sitting in the hard chairs after two hours, because as soon as we said "Merry Christmas!" they left before we could do a curtain call! Oh well, that's show business. Though some were nervous, we all had fun and no injuries were had.

How much do I cost?

WP_000001

While Incredi-Mom shopped, the kids became bored and Ian found this scanner interesting. Not knowing the danger of lasers, he immediately looked into it. "Oooo!"

WP_000002

Not to be outdone, Keighly pushes Ian out of the way and to get the full effect.

WP_000003

Emily falls right in line and destroys her face and vision like the others. Yay peer pressure!

Final Dress Rehearsal

Thursday, December 02, 2010 0 comments

This year our church put on a live diner theater called "Christmas at Uncle Phil's Diner: No Room at the Diner". Strangely enough, I got cast as the nerd "Wally".. I wonder how that happened? I knew it would be a stretch for me to pull off such a difficult part as "nerd", but I dug deep and used all my acting abilities to hopefully portray a convincing character. This is our final dress rehearsal. We were still figuring out a lot of technical issues even up to the last minute! I had ordered a set of official Jerry Lewis Nutty Professor teeth to really finish out my costume, but they didn't arrive in time (even after ordering almost a month in advance! I guess there is a huge demand for them!)..

PCS: "The First Leon"

This year, PCS's Christmas performance by the 5th and 6th grade class was "The First Leon". With limited casting, the lead "Leon" was actually performed by Della Jones. As usual, there were a paparazzi of parents and relatives.

Keighly opted out of any solos and stuck to the often-sought-after "shepherd" role.
